Frequently asked questions
Clear answers. No exaggerated promises.
SunShieldCars is being built around transparent fitment, honest material claims, and safe parked-vehicle use.
Is SunShield made for driving?+
No. A full windshield privacy/heat shield is for a parked vehicle and must be removed completely before driving.
What is the difference between Privacy Basic and Heat Shield Plus?+
Privacy Basic focuses on lightweight blackout privacy and compact storage. Heat Shield Plus adds a reflective exterior-facing layer to strengthen heat-reflection positioning while retaining a black cabin-facing side.
How do I know which size fits my car?+
A reliable fit should be based on verified windshield dimensions, contour, and mirror/sensor placement. A make/model/year alone is not enough unless it has been matched to trusted fitment data.
Will suction cups mark the windshield?+
Clear removable suction cups are part of the current attachment concept, but final cup material, size, and care instructions should be confirmed through prototype testing. Keep glass and cups clean and inspect them regularly.
Is the fabric washable?+
Washability depends on the final material, reflective coating, insulation, edge binding, and label instructions for the version you purchase. Do not assume every SunShield construction can be machine washed.
How do I store it?+
Remove the product before driving, fold it along the intended fold zones, and store it where it will not interfere with pedals, airbags, visibility, or loose-object safety.
Does SunShield block all heat or UV?+
No product claim on this site states that it blocks all heat or UV. SunShield is positioned to help reduce direct solar load and direct sunlight/UV exposure through the covered windshield. Specific performance percentages require verified testing.
Can I use it with a dashcam or sensor housing?+
Potentially, but fitment needs to account for the actual mirror, camera, sensor housing, toll tags, and aftermarket accessories on your vehicle. Do not cover equipment contrary to the vehicle or accessory manufacturer instructions.
